The tail is black with only one wide white band. Sexes are identical, but youthful birds have pale brown alternatively gray, and dim brown replacing black. It are available in natural woodland, tree plantations and concrete locations. Best areas to spot this chicken is Lake Manyara, Nyerere and Sere
